My practice investigates the fluid boundaries of identity through hybrid forms that exist between literature and image, language and memory, in unfamiliar spatial and temporal conditions — synthesizing organic and artificial elements to explore how memory transforms, how language refigures identity, and how we might escape the constraints of linear time. The hybrid figures, installations, and paintings I produce engage concepts such as language as identity formation, games of escaping temporal flow, and the memory embedded within objects.
 

Literature serves as a vital source of inspiration in my practice and research. Within the context of my second solo exhibition at Gallery Nev Istanbul in 2016, I produced an artist's book, The Mole Cricket and The Night Guard Are Awake, combining my photographs with three intertwined narratives, demonstrating how visual and textual elements can mutually constitute meaning. This investigation continues with Koloni Vatos (2025), my new artist's book that brings together paintings and texts developed over two years, exploring the mind's attempt to encounter, separate, and synthesize its various selves through a journey across memory spaces. This approach reflects my broader methodology: exploring the unique languages that emerge across different fields of study and establishing new contexts and connections between disciplines.

 

My artistic production employs an experimental approach where materials themselves become active participants in generating form and meaning. By alternately using different techniques—such as painting, installation, sculpture, and video—within the same series, I transform the characteristics of pictorial elements and investigate the balance, imbalance, and tension created through shifting relationships. This process of material mutation reflects my interest in how identities emerge not from fixed origins but through continuous transformation and entanglement with new environments and contexts.

Through this interdisciplinary practice, I seek to create temporary identities for forms that belong to no defined place or time, inviting viewers to navigate the liminal spaces where memory, language, and material converge.
